Work Stream 3

Work stream 3 (WS3) will conduct one or two field experiments to analyze the impact of information-based measures on modal choice or the adoption of fuel-efficient cars. It thus covers measures that complement the focus of WS1 and WS2 and assesses the potential of measures that will be (comparatively easily and rapidly) implemented on the basis of actual (not reported) behavior. Its results will be included in the aggregate assessments of WS2 and in the recommendations stemming from WS1. In particular, the results will show to what extent mobility behavior can be altered by “soft” measures and whether and when more difficult measures (such as taxes or road pricing) will be required.
