Social Power

The Social Power Project aims to foster participative, community-based social innovation in the field of sustainable energy consumption of households. In particular, it aims to accompany and complement the technological innovation process of smart meterroll-out initiated by the two partner energy utilities AEM and StWW. An innovative game application for smartphones and tablets will be developed and tested with the intention to raise consumer’s awareness on energy-saving practices at home. The research approach explores the potential of social interaction and game mechanics in driving people towards long term behaviour change in the field of sustainable energy consumption.
