Task 3.3: Macro-Economic Impact Analysis

As energy is needed as an input for any economic activity, a macro-economic perspective that takes into account the interactions between all private and public sectors as well as different types of households is necessary to comprehensively assess energy markets and policies. This task conducts macroeconomic impact analysis and uses the knowledge to evaluate and develop recommendations for new market designs and policies. In particular, we work on:

• Ex-ante analysis of policies and market designs that support achieving the goals of
   the Energy Strategy,
• Implications of further integration of international energy markets and of foreign
   energy/climate policy for Switzerland,
• Dynamics of innovation processes in energy demand and supply, international
knowledge diffusion, and implications for economic growth,
• Integration of technological and bottom-up energy market detail in macro-economic
   modeling to improve analysis tools.
