Smart City: Innovationen für die vernetzte Stadt - Geschäftsmodelle und Management

Work Package 1 (2018)

This book condenses knowledge obtained through multi-year research and practitioner projects. It provides the reader with insights from lighthouse smart cities including Vienna, Munich, Lyon, and Songdo International Business District and presents the Smart City Management Model (SCMM). The SCMM helps interested parties – actors from the public sector and firm representatives – manage smart city initiatives and transform their cities. It brings together the basic elements of smart city initiatives (data collection and governance, new technologies, partner and public participation, financing, communication, and business models), the application areas of smart concepts (smart environment, smart living, smart economy, smart mobility, smart government or governance, and smart people), and a systematic transformation process (comprising six steps: initiation; evaluation of status quo; concept development and partner synchronization; resource mobilization; project realization; operation and longevity). The book supplements the SCMM as a step-by-step framework with checklists, worksheets, maturity models, and questionnaires.
